The Short Version

Auriel does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything happens on your iPhone. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no ads.

Data We Access On-Device

Auriel requests permission to use the following device capabilities. All data stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

• Location — Used to calculate the sun's position at your coordinates. Your location is processed entirely on-device using the NREL Solar Position Algorithm. It is never transmitted to any server.
• Camera — Used for the AR sun overlay and garden shade measurement. Camera frames are analyzed in real time and immediately discarded. No images or video are saved or transmitted.
• Device Motion — Used to determine phone orientation for the AR overlay. Motion data is processed locally and never stored.

Data We Collect

None. Auriel collects zero data. We do not use any analytics frameworks, crash reporting services, or third-party SDKs that collect data.

Data We Share

None. There is no data to share because we do not collect any.

Saved Locations

When you save a location in Auriel, the data (coordinates, score, name) is stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage. This data is not accessible to us or any third party. If you delete the app, this data is permanently removed.

Children's Privacy

Auriel does not collect any data from any user, including children under 13. The app contains no user-generated content, social features, or external links beyond this privacy policy and support page.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices, we will update this page. Since we collect no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
